THE WEALTHY WOMAN MOCKED THE NANNY... THEN THE BILLIONAIRE KISSED HIS TRUE WIFE

The high-pitched whine of the private jet’s twin engines began to cycle down, leaving a heavy, kerosene-scented silence hanging over the tarmac. Victoria’s fingers tightened around the smooth leather handle of her limited-edition Hermès bag, the metal studs digging sharply into her palm. The smug smile she had worn while eyeing the woman’s faded canvas shoes suddenly felt tight, like drying plaster on her face.

David stood under the shadow of the massive aircraft wing, his tailored charcoal suit pristine despite the transatlantic flight. He didn't look at the private security detail standing at attention, nor did he look at Victoria, who had already taken two elegant steps forward, her silk dress fluttering in the exhaust breeze.

He was looking entirely at the woman in the denim jacket.

"David, darling," Victoria started, her voice slipping into its practiced, high-society cadence as she reached out to touch his lapel. "Thank goodness you're finally here. There’s been a ridiculous mix-up with the ground staff. This... this girl has been occupying the priority boarding lane with the child, and she refused to move her things when my driver arrived."

David didn't shake her hand off; he simply stepped around her as if she were a piece of misplaced airport luggage.

He stopped directly in front of the quiet woman. His large, rings-adorned hand reached out, his thumb gently catching a stray lock of dark hair that the wind had whipped across her cheek. He leaned down, his eyes closing as he pressed a slow, deliberate kiss against her lips—a gesture so familiar and deeply tender it made the surrounding flight crew instantly look at the ground.

"You're late," the woman said softly. Her voice didn't have the sharp, defensive edge of someone caught out of place. It was calm, steady, and carried the quiet authority of someone who didn't need to shout to be heard.

"The headwind over the Atlantic was brutal, Chloe," David murmured, his hand dropping to lift the little boy into his arms. The child immediately buried his face in the expensive wool of David's shoulder, his small fingers catching on the silk tie. "Did he behave for the boarding check?"
