THE SPOILED BRIDE SCREAMED AT HER GROOM... THEN THE WHITE ENVELOPE OPENED

The silk roses of the bridal bouquet crushed against the marble steps of the altar, their delicate petals scattering across the floor like drops of blood. Phuong stood before the three hundred guests, her face contorted with a mask of pure, unadulterated rage. Her chest heaved beneath the heavy weight of her diamond-encrusted Vera Wang gown.

"You are nothing but a charity case!" Phuong shrieked, her voice echoing sharply off the vaulted cathedral ceilings. She pointed a French-manicured finger directly at Kien’s chest. "My father brought you into our company out of pity. How dare you question my budget in front of the planners? My family could buy and sell you ten times over before breakfast!"

The silence in the grand cathedral became heavy and suffocating. Members of the city’s highest social circles shifted uncomfortably in their pews, some hiding smirks behind their designer programs, while others stared intently at the floor. They were entirely used to Phuong’s legendary tantrums, but watching her humiliate her groom at the altar was a new low.

Kien didn't flinch. He stood perfectly still in his simple, unbranded black tuxedo. His hands were loosely clasped in front of him, his posture calm, relaxed, and entirely devoid of the shame Phuong expected to see.

Slowly, without saying a word, Kien reached into his internal breast pocket.

He didn't pull out a handkerchief to wipe away her spit. He pulled out a crisp, heavy white envelope and extended it toward her.

"What is this trash?" Phuong sneered, snatching the envelope from his hand. "An apology note? It’s too late for that, Kien. I’m having my father strip your title from the firm by midnight."
