The High Price of an Arrogant Strike

The heavy silence of the dining room pressed down like a physical weight, suffocating the soft jazz that continued to play from the hidden ceiling speakers. A single glass of ice water lay on its side nearby, a small puddle spreading slowly across the white linen tablecloth and dripping onto the polished hardwood.

The customer, a local developer named Bradley, kept his hand half-raised, his chest heaving with a performative fury that found no audience among the frozen diners.

The owner, Julian, kept his gaze locked on Bradley’s eyes, his expression completely unreadable, a statue of quiet authority under the soft golden chandeliers.

"I asked if you knew whose table you were sitting at, Bradley," Julian said, his voice dropping into a low, conversational tone that somehow carried to every corner of the room. "Because this layout doesn't belong to the hospitality franchise you usually frequent."
