The Digital Empire That Bought Out the Bully

The glass jar didn't just thud against the plush velvet runner; the sound rattled the entire front row of the exhibition booth. Chloe Hart didn't even blink, her manicured fingers already reaching for a bottle of imported rosewater to mock for her twenty thousand active viewers.

"Honestly, guys, look at this packaging," Chloe said into the glowing lens of her smartphone, her voice pitched in that high, breathless cadence her followers loved. "It looks like something you’d find at a flea market. My community only invests in elite, clinical-grade luxury, not back-alley wellness experiments."

A few people in the crowded aisle shuffled their feet, the silence around the display table turning thick and sharp. Sophia didn't look at the screen, nor did she look at the stream of hearts and emojis cascading up the digital display. She simply stepped forward, her hand moving with a quiet, unhurried precision to catch the rolling glass jar before it could tumble over the edge of the mahogany riser.

"The jar contains cold-pressed sea buckthorn from the northern valley," Sophia said, her voice completely level as she wiped a tiny speck of dust from the wooden lid. "It takes four weeks to cure, and it funds three independent co-ops in the district."

Chloe let out a sharp, theatrical giggle, pivoting her ring light so the glare caught the simple, unbranded linen tunic Sophia wore. "Oh, cute, a lecture. Let’s get a close-up on the local talent, guys. This is why you don't buy amateur skincare."

Sophia didn't flinch away from the blinding light. She stood her ground, her fingers wrapping steadily around the jar, her dark eyes reflecting the smartphone's blue screen with a flat, terrifyingly calm intensity. She reached into her pocket, not for a product sample, but for a slim, black corporate tablet.

"I am the owner of this brand, Chloe," Sophia murmured, her thumb tapping the screen twice with a rhythmic, heavy click. "And I just bought your talent management agency twenty minutes ago."
