THE ARROGANT WOMAN MOCKED 1 DELIVERY MAN... THEN A VIP VELVET BOX RUINED HER

The silver coin bounced twice on the polished marble floor before settling right next to the delivery man’s scuffed leather boot. The metallic ring of the coin was instantly drowned out by the shrill, synchronized laughter of the two women standing by the gold-leaf display case.

Evelyn adjusted the heavy fox-fur collar of her coat, her manicured fingers sparkling with emeralds as she pointed at the delivery man's faded blue uniform. "Pick it up, sweetie," she sneered, leaning closer to her companion. "That’s probably half your hourly wage. You can buy your little girlfriend a cup of coffee instead of dragging her into a boutique she can’t even afford to breathe in."

Beside him, Chloe wiped a hot tear from her cheek, her shoulders shaking under her cheap denim jacket. She looked down at the floor, unable to meet the mocking stares of the other wealthy shoppers who had gathered to watch the spectacle.

The delivery man, Leo, didn't move. He kept his eyes on the floor, his face completely unreadable under the shadow of his baseball cap. His hands were clasped loosely in front of his belt, absorbing the humiliation in absolute silence.

"It’s honestly embarrassing," Evelyn’s friend chimed in, loudly enough for the cashier to hear. "The management really needs to enforce a stricter dress code. First-class clients shouldn't have to look at the help while they shop."

The heavy glass doors of the VIP room swung open with a sharp click.

Mr. Sterling, the boutique's notoriously strict manager, marched out into the main hall. His silk tie was perfectly straight, and his face was set in a grim, urgent mask. Evelyn instantly smoothed her fur coat, a smug smile plastering her face as she prepared to complain about the uniform-clad intruder.

"Mr. Sterling, thank goodness," Evelyn started, taking a step toward him. "This delivery person is causing a scene, and his girlfriend is—"

Mr. Sterling didn't even look at her. He brushed past her so quickly his wool suit coat grazed her sleeve, completely ignoring her outstretched hand.

In front of the entire stunned crowd, the manager stopped directly in front of Leo. He snapped his heels together and bent into a deep, ninety-degree bow, his forehead nearly touching his knees.

"We apologize for the delay, sir," Mr. Sterling said, his voice echoing clearly across the silent boutique. "The custom detailing took longer than expected in transit, but your order has just been cleared by the central vault."
